Rotary Peace Centers

Dear Rotarian,

The 2018 Rotary Peace Fellowship application is now available! Our new online application will streamline the submission and review process and help districts manage the increasing number of Rotary Peace Fellowship applications.

The Fritz Bernegger New London Foundation Distinguished Service Award established in 1987 is a Paul Harris Fellowship in the amount of $1,000.00. Our annual contribution to the Rotary Foundation in Fritz’s name is the New London Rotary’s way of immortalizing the memory of Fritz’s numerous contributions to Rotary International and specifically to the New London Rotary Club. Fritz Bernegger, the founder of Hillshire Farms Company, was a lifelong member of the New London Rotary Club and exemplified the ideals of Rotary as established by Paul Harris.

About the Program

The Rotary District 6220 Global Scholar Program provides $30,000 scholarship awards for graduate studies at a qualified college/university (i.e., has a graduate level program of study that directly relates to at least one of TRF’s Areas of Focus) outside the USA for US citizens; or, for international citizens (namely, cannot have U.S. citizenship or have a green card or in the process of applying for U.S. citizenship), outside their native country where a Rotary host club can be identified.  Scholars must commence studies no earlier than the beginning of the academic year in the fall of 2017 and conclude no later than December 30, 2018 and expend the scholarship funds within 12 months of starting studies.

Love is International Weekend January 6, 7, 8, 2017

Traditionally held in January, this event is a weekend filled with fun and is a great opportunity to involve your own family in sharing the International flavor of Rotary. Wausau Early Birds Club and Wausau Rotary Club team up to organize a weekend of fun for the Rotary Youth Exchange students from around our District 6220. Students visit with local foreign language classes at area High Schools on Friday afternoon, have dinner and socialize on Friday night, shop, participate in a scavenger hunt, sledding and tubing on Saturday, and then on Saturday night, Rotary families from both clubs host 2 or more students for dinner and an overnight stay. On Sunday the students head back to their Host Club families. This provides Rotary families great opportunities to experience cultural diversity with international students while sharing camaraderie with fellow Rotary families from both Wausau Rotary Clubs

De Pere Rotary – Roses for the Living

Hello, everyone and welcome to tonight’s very special event!

On November 10, 1951, the late Ruben M. Tetzlaff, then president of The Rotary Club of DePere, established the Club’s “Roses for the Living” Award which honors an individual (or two!) for their exemplary service to our community.

Since its inception, The Rotary Club of DePere has bestowed this honor on 75 service-oriented individuals who have given freely and willingly of their time and talents for the betterment of our community.  This distinguished list of past honorees, as well as tonight’s recipients, have all truly made a positive difference in the lives of many.
