Tree Planting

This winter is great time to start planning your club’s tree planting. Once you have planted, here is a tree counter found here

https://www.esrag.org/2017-2018-trees-planted-counter   to log your results.

ESRAG – the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group is an excellent group for resources. You can also contact me if you have questions.

The Waupaca Club has a great idea for a fund raiser for their tree planting.

They had Jaycees club in Waupaca until about 5 years ago, and a tree pick up after the holidays, was their major fundraiser. The city does not pick-up Xmas trees.

The Waupaca Club plans on getting about 20 Rotarians and at least 4 big trucks, and several pick-up trucks for the project, and will be doing this on Saturday 1/13. The club will pick up the trees at a central drop off – for a fee/donation and then recycle the trees.

Protecting Youth Program Participants

Now available in Rotary’s learning center is a new online course, “Protecting Youth Program Participants”. You may find the course in the “Youth, Students, Scholars” category in Rotary’s learning center, and it is offered in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Japanese, and Korean.

Election & Reporting of Club Officers

Time to think about election of the 2018-19 officers. Thinking ahead will get your Club headed in the right direction for the next Rotary year. 31 December 2017 is the deadline for election of officers and 1 February 2018 is the deadline for reporting the officers to Rotary International. Current club officers can submit this information via the Club Administration section of My Rotary, approved vendors (DACdb, etc.), or by sending the information to This email address is being protected from spambots. I know this is a busy time for many clubs with lots of Service Projects going on this month and many parties and celebrations. Many clubs match members Foundation gifts during this time as well as we head towards the end of the giving year (for tax deductions). Thank all of you for choosing to be Rotarian and Making a Difference.

Sincerely with Peace,
