Medical Equipment Donations
To Help Door County Residents

Your “no longer needed” medical equipment can be put to good use by donating it to a program that will distribute it to people in need throughout Door County.

A joint effort of Neighbor to Neighbor, Door County Memorial Hospital and the Rotary Clubs of Sturgeon Bay is looking for used walkers, canes and crutches, wheel chairs, shower and bath equipment, diabetic monitoring devices, hospital beds and tables, Hoyer lifts and i.v. poles.

According to Terry Lowrey, a spokesperson for the Rotary Clubs of Sturgeon Bay, the donated equipment will be loaned to people in Door County. Lowrey also said that by donating used medical equipment, benefactors may quality for a tax deduction in addition to the personal satisfaction of knowing they are helping people in need.

To donate items, please call the Door County Memorial Hospital Plant Operations at 743-5566, ext. 3098 Mondays through Fridays between 7:00 AM and 4:00PM.

After hours and weekend donations can be arranged by contacting Neighbor to Neighbor at 743 7800.

Lowrey cited a serious need for used medical equipment throughout Door County and said the joint project can help people clean out attics and basements while meeting a very personal need in the community.
