DISTRICT GOVERNOR NOMINATIONs 2014-2015
Dear Fellow Rotarians:
This letter is to invite nominations for the position of District Governor 2014-2015.
As the immediate PDG of District 6220, it is a great honor to chair the nominating committee. I look back on my years in Rotary and remember the wonderful times of service – those we helped, the funds we raised, the gifts to The Rotary Foundation and our commitment to the eradication of Polio.
I am thankful for Sturgeon Bay Breakfast Club’s support as I served as their President, and even more thankful upon being nominated for District Governor. As new members begin their paths of service, they have undoubtedly discovered the challenges and opportunities that accompany it. I hope each new member has also seen how each step in service has the potential to change a life or the lives of many. I know my life has been profoundly changed by Rotary.
I have attached sections from the Rotary International Manual of Procedure and the Procedure Manual – District 6220 outlining the qualifications and the process. Three qualifications are required:
- A governor at the time of taking office must have completed seven years of membership in one or more Rotary Clubs and have attended the governor-elect training seminar and the International Assembly.
- Served as club president
- Served as a assistant governor or served in a district leadership position.
- A current copy of District 6220’s Manual of Procedure can be obtained from our District secretary Mary Weed-Wheeler via email at mary.ww@ridistrict6220.org.
Nominations are accepted from November 1, 2011 until January 15, 2011 via email to rotary@selvick.com. We need you to consider being the next District Governor and/or consider taking on a leadership role in one of the many District positions available.
We tentatively plan on holding the interview process of each applicant and their spouse on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The location and time will be decided after all the applications have been submitted.
In Rotary Service,
Steven M. Selvick
