Procedure for Durable medical equipment
program: Hospital Maintenance Department

Plant Operations for drop off of durable medical equipment from
Neighbor to Neighbor customers or donors at DCMH.

- Delivery
address and hours for equipment drop off at DCMH:
- Monday
– Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
@ 330 South 16th Place – Service entrance
and Maintenance office.
- Weekend
drop off can be scheduled by calling Neighbor to Neighbor @
743-7800.
- Tagging
system:
- If
equipment has a Neighbor-to-Neighbor identification number
attached no paper work needs to be completed by maintenance
staff.
- If
equipment does not have a Neighbor-to-Neighbor identification
number maintenance staff will ask the donor to complete a form
with donor information.
- Maintenance
will then contact Neighbor to Neighbor and ask for the next
number to be assigned to this piece of equipment. (743-7800).
- Maintenance
will inspect and repair equipment as appropriate. All equipment
will be accepted at DCMH.
- If
equipment is easily repaired it will be cleaned and put into
system.
- If
equipment is not repairable maintenance staff will discard
that equipment.
- Maintenance
department would then contact Eric VanAlstine in Housekeeping
informing him that equipment is ready to be cleaned, or power
washed.
- When
equipment has been cleaned Eric VanAlstine will contact Neighbor
to Neighbor and set up a delivery schedule for equipment. If
Neighbor to Neighbor is unable to accept additional equipment
Eric will contact yet to be determined Rotary membership
contacts for disposition of overstocked equipment.
- After
delivery schedule has been established Eric VanAlstine will
contact Daniel J. Boes @ Ext.- 3597 to confirm delivery of
equipment by maintenance department to Neighbor to Neighbor.
